REQUEST VIDEO was the portal to a cultural revolution from 1988 - 1992. The master tapes were literally thrown away and lost for over 30 years. History was almost erased. Thanks to the fans and the power of music...we are back.
The music video request show aired in Anaheim, CAlifornia after school on a local UHF station, KDOC, dominated by evangelical infomercials and ultra-conservative leadership. The show was chaotic, unfiltered live television: raw interviews, music videos & live performances in all their analog grit, and candid moments with artists who would go on to define an era. Across 1,200 episodes, the guest list is staggering: NINE INCH NAILS, N.W.A., TORI AMOS, ALICE IN CHAINS, NO DOUBT, SOCIAL DISTORTION, THE BANGLES, BJöRK, THE BLACK CROWES, DE LA SOUL, DURAN DURAN, HENRY ROLLINS, LOU REED, SONIC YOUTH, INXS, MORRISEY, NIRVNA, OINGO BOINGO, and many, many more.
The vault is open, and we are releasing official episodes from a series that defined an era. Each episode is Pulled from the original 3/4" u-matic master tapes — authentic, emotional, and crafted for true fans.
